Its getting to be that time of year again. The weather is beginning to get warmer if only fleetingly. The end of the school term is in sight. Thoughts are turning to summer vacations. Whether you’re planning to travel to the next state, across the country, or internationally, here are some tips for reducing the stress the comes with traveling.
Whether you travel by train, bus or plane, there are restrictions on what you can bring on board. It may not be obvious if you’ve traveled by train before, but Amtrak actually does have a baggage policy. In addition to carry-on baggage, some Amtrak stations also allow you to check your baggage. Either way, the weight limit per bag is 50lbs. When checking baggage there is a 3 piece limit.

Bus companies also have baggage policies. From size/ weight limits, to acceptable types of baggage to prohibited items limits, each bus company has their own policy. Here are some of the common ones:
If your travels will be taking you out of the country, don’t wait until the last minute to check your passport to see if it has expired. It takes approximately three weeks to get a new passport.
