The holidays are over. The gifts having been unwrapped are no longer under the tree, and a new year has begun. While you might be someone who keeps their wreath and lights up until the spring thaw, now is the time to get rid of your Christmas tree.
Here in the City of Boston, Public Works will collect trees for composting starting today (January 3, 2011) until January 14, 2011. You will need to place your tree out on the curb minus its ornaments and lights. The city has also requested that trees not be placed in plastic bags.
Trees should be put by 7am out on recycling day. If your trash is picked up twice a week, your recycling day is the first of the two days. If your trash is picked up three times a week, your recycling day is Friday.
